About Molly
I am a professional ballet dancer, most recently dancing at the City Ballet of San Diego, with a passion for teaching. I received my degree in Dance Pedagogy from Butler University in 2020, where I also was a full time Butler Ballet dancer. At Butler, I learned Vaganova, Cecchetti, and RAD syllabi extensively, as well as Cunningham modern technique and Laban teaching analysis. I taught ballet to children ages 7-8 while overseen by Butler Ballet faculty.
After graduating, I moved to San Francisco and began teaching at the Tutu School where I worked with children 18 months-8 years.
Once I moved to San Diego to dance with the City Ballet of San Diego, I began teaching dancers of all ages at multiple studios around Southern California. While teaching at the San Elijo Dance and Music Academy, I received training from PNB School Principal Abbie Siegel on Balanchine technique for levels 1-3 (approx. ages 7-11).
I have now moved to Brooklyn to dance freelance and continue teaching.

I am a ballet teacher for all ages, with experience teaching children as young as 18 months to adults in their 70s. I primarily teach children ages 7-18. I take inspiration from Vaganova and Balanchine techniques mostly, but I am also familiar with the RAD and Cecchetti syllabi and can adapt to your needs.
I will provide your dancer with the additional class time and extra set of eyes that they need in order to succeed in the dance world through 1 hour sessions. Lesson plans vary per dancer, there are many ways to take advantage of private lessons. If there is a specific skill your dancer would like to work on, I will begin the lesson with an abbreviated barre to warm up the body and prepare for whatever skill it is we'd like to work on. I can also provide ballet classes, pointe classes, strengthening/stretching classes-- if there is anything specific you are looking for I would be happy to hear it!
My approach to teaching is built on a sense of mutual respect-- I take great care to honor the overall well-being of a dancer in tandem with holding high expectations for them.
I have real professional experience, and am still dancing professionally, and would love to pass along what I've learned so far to your dancer.
