About Erika
Born and raised in New York, Erika always had a love for dance from a young age. She started out on her high school's dance team and began taking hip hop classes at Broadway Dance Center. In October 2007 she began taking salsa classes and joined a student dance team, where she realized how much she loved performing. Since then she has had the privilege of dancing on both a semi-pro and pro team, and performing in different parts of the world including Peru, Texas, Puerto Rico and DR to name a few. Throughout the years she’s learned other various styles of dance, while also becoming an instructor for both children and adult classes. She’s had the privilege of directing dance teams and teaches various workshops including Latin Fusion, cha cha, salsa partner work, heels, ladies’ styling, etc. She’s performed at venues including Madison Square Garden and Citi Field, and has performed alongside various artists such as Loisaides, Winstar, and various world-known Salsa bands. Erika has been fortunate enough to obtain opportunities to perform in music videos with Winstar, Anthony Ramos, TPLSZiggy, movies and on live television such as Fox 5, Pix11 and NY1. She is currently part of NYC based ladies’ companies named Querencia, Cadencia, Latin Fusion Dance Project and an instructor for Vida Dance Company and Dynasty Dance Company. Erika continues to train and grow, hoping to inspire others with the same love she shares for dance and is blessed to be a part of an amazing journey. She is currently teaching Latin Fusion, heels and salsa classes in NYC, as well as private dance classes and packages.

Whether you're starting from scratch in salsa or seeking to refine your technique, I'm dedicated to guiding you every step of the way. From teaching fundamental steps and body movement to mastering isolations, timing, styling, and musicality, I ensure a comprehensive learning experience. With expertise in both following and leading in salsa, I offer a well-rounded perspective.
In my heels class I incorporate fundamentals such as heel work for positioning, across-the-floor exercises for technique enhancement, and body movement drills essential for fluidity. Furthermore, my expertise extends to my knowledge in Latin Fusion style that promote grooving and expressive body movement, fostering a holistic approach to dance education.

Erika’s THE best! She breaks down the steps, takes time explaining the purpose of each movement, and handles each lesson with extreme patience and understanding. If you’re nervous or hesitant (I was the worst!), she takes her time focusing on your mental growth in dance as well as your physical growth. You can absolutely feel her love for dance and her passion for teaching with every lesson you book. Just off of Erika’s lessons alone I’ve gone from a novice salsa student to an avid salsa social dancer. Thank you Erika!!
