Julian has been great, has helped me in so many ways with tone/pitch, fingering, and practicing. I have greatly improved in the short amount of time he has been my tutor.

Julian is a fantastic bassoon teacher. He helped me pick up bassoon again after a decade off. He got me set up with wonderful reeds (mail ordered from one of his past students) and a new bocal, gave me exercises for breath work, and made sure my posture habits were good. But beyond the basics, Julian has an incredible sense of phrasing and overall great musicianship. He made quite an impression on me and my playing continues to incorporate his phrasing suggestions to this day. His lessons are no-nonsense while being fun. He is articulate and a quick problem solver. He can even teach online, not something that's easy to do. Highly recommend! Laura F.
