About Eliza
I am a university student at St. Andrew's in the United Kingdom, double majoring in International Relations and Chinese Language and Culture.
Having grown up in Beijing and Singapore, and going on 13 years of studying Mandarin, I have an intimate knowledge of Chinese language and culture. Additionally, I understand deeply what it takes to learn Mandarin as a non-native speaker!
I graduated my high school in Alexandria, VA with a Seal of Biliteracy, a 4.7 GPA, and a legacy of tutoring in Chinese - increasing the number of students in our Chinese Club from 5 to 30 during my time as president.

My approach is experience-based, speaking-focused lessons to foster passion and genuine interest in Chinese.
Typical lesson plan includes cultural skits, speaking conversation about modern topics, reading articles word-by-word, vocab review by breaking down radicals and using pictorial memorization to master characters.
Lessons for any level in Mandarin - but specialising in conversational Mandarin for beginners and AP Chinese exam prep.
