About Jerry
I enjoy talking to people and making sense of the world together with them. Nothing is as satisfying as introducing someone to a new idea or helping them 'grasp' a concept. While Econs is often referred to as the dismal science, I find it a very useful lens to see the world, if understood and applied correctly. By tutoring the subject, I hope to play a small part in spreading my love for the subject. (and of course the rational self-interest bit about income yada yada....) As a bonus, I'm highly proficient in Chinese and online tutoring as well, if either matters to you.

My lessons are laser-focused on building intuition and understanding for complex models and equations, and using examples and simple 'common-sense' explanations to make economic concepts accessible. Another area I shine at is helping students with the maths in Econs - particularly stats and calculus. With plenty of applied practice and detailed guidance, I will build up your foundations and ensure you're ready to take on any course or exam. Having graduated in Computer Science as well, I will be able to advise on computational/programming questions as well if relevant for your course. I have a wealth of teaching experience: I taught at UC Berkeley's Student Learning Center as an Economics Tutor for both Financial Econs and Econometrics. Other than that, I've also been a personal tutor to 7 tutees at the university-level one-on-one, with impressive grade turnarounds. I graduated with a GPA of 3.97/4.0 (Highest Distinction) I also do classes for A-Level H2 and H1 Econs upon request. I have taught 3 tutees in H2 Econs. All have attained As.

Jerry did a great job tutoring me Fin Econs when I was still studying in Berkeley a few years ago. He was knowledgable and clear in the way he reasons and talks abt concepts Went thru problem-solving techniques with us v methodological too. If I'm not wrong his tutoring slot was by far the most popular back then, and well deserved!
