About Arina

Arina Bagaryakova (Bagarisha) is a songwriter, live performer, and music educator based in NYC. Since 2019, she has been coaching students for auditions and competitions, as well as supporting those who study music for personal growth and enjoyment. Her teaching emphasizes creativity, health, confidence, technical skill, and helping students open up through music.

Since 2023, Arina has served on the faculty of Berklee College of Music’s Day Sessions Summer Program. She has also led workshops for youth that connect music with social justice at Boston Arts Academy, Algonquin Regional High School, and internationally at the Live Room nonprofit in Morocco during her SOF artistic residency.

Alongside her teaching, Arina maintains an active performance career. She has appeared on The Voice and the Junior Eurovision stage, performed at the JEN Conference with jazz masters John Patitucci and Kris Davis, and was a selected composer for Joana Vasconcelos’ Valkyrie installation at the MassArt Art Museum, which was featured in Forbes. She has collaborated internationally, recording with GRAMMY-winning pianist Leo Genovese, and is currently focused on releasing her original music.

Arina is passionate about helping students discover their own voices—whether through piano, singing, or songwriting—while fostering a supportive and inspiring learning environment.

My piano lessons are personalized for all ages and skill levels, from children just starting out to adults reconnecting with music. Beginners will learn note reading, basic theory, sight-reading, and ear training technique, while more advanced students can explore harmony, improvisation, or even composition. For younger learners, I use engaging, age-appropriate games to build a strong musical foundation.

Whether your goal is to perform professionally, grow confidently as a musician, or enjoy music for yourself, I’d love to be part of your journey.

Find out more about Arina

  • When did you first develop a passion for music and your favorite instrument?

I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember. My journey started with the children’s musical theatre Domisolka, where I toured all over the globe, including China, Italy, Amsterdam. That experience shaped my love for music and performance early on.
  • Is there a particular type of music or artist that you listen to on a loop without it driving you crazy?

This week I’ve been completely obsessed with Tyler, the Creator’s new album — it’s been on repeat non-stop.
  • Explain to us the most difficult or riveting course you could personally give to a student of music.

A vocal performance workshop where we strip away technical aspects of singing and focus on raw emotional delivery, stage presence, and personal storytelling — guiding a student to sound and feel like themselves rather than a copy of someone else.
  • What do you think is the most complicated instrument to master and why?

The one you don’t want to learn or are forced to learn. Passion is the best teacher, and without it, even simple instruments can feel impossible.
  • What are your keys to success?

Patience and persistence — the quiet forces that keep you moving forward when motivation wavers.
  • Name three musicians you dream of meeting in your favourite bar in the early hours of the morning. Explain why.

Charli xcx, Bjork, and Caroline Polachek — they must have been partying all night, and maybe they would be down to share a meal and talk about life/art.
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to music or your days at music school.

During one of my shows at Berklee, we had a full technical meltdown — no lights, no mics. Instead of stopping, we improvised: inviting the audience to sing with us acoustically, adding stomps, claps, even tapping on music stands. It was such a special and intimate moment! It reminded me that music isn’t just about perfection — it’s about connection and adaptability.
  • What are the little touches that make you a Superprof in music?

Being okay with chaos — because creativity is rarely tidy. I create a space where students can experiment, make mistakes, and grow without fear.
