About Kalani
I am a qualified Physiotherapist and PhD researcher at the University of Tasmania with a strong academic background in health sciences, research and education. I am passionate about helping school students develop a strong understanding of Math and Science while building their confidence and curiosity.
I understand that every student learns differently, so I provide patient, supportive and personalized lessons based on their individual needs, learning level and goals. My approach focuses not only on achieving better results but also on helping students understand concepts clearly, develop effective study habits and become more confident independent learners.
With my university-level academic and research experience, I bring a professional, organized and encouraging approach to tutoring. I create a comfortable learning environment where students can ask questions freely, work through challenges at their own pace and feel confident in their progress.
My goal is to make learning engaging, understandable and rewarding for every student I work with.

I take a friendly, patient and student-centered approach to tutoring, with the aim of making Math and Science easier to understand, enjoyable and relevant to everyday life. I first identify each student’s current knowledge, strengths and areas that need improvement, then tailor lessons to their individual learning style and academic goals.
My lessons combine clear explanations, worked examples, guided practice, problem-solving activities and regular revision. I encourage students to ask questions and understand the reasoning behind an answer rather than simply memorizing information. I also use real-life examples, particularly from health and science, to help students connect concepts with practical applications.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes, with flexibility depending on the student’s age, level and learning needs. I am happy to provide additional practice questions and revision strategies where appropriate.
I am a qualified Physiotherapist and currently undertaking a PhD in Medical Sciences at the University of Tasmania. My academic and research background has given me extensive experience in science, critical thinking, academic writing and working with students and learners.
I offer tutoring for primary and secondary school students in Math and Science, and I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and building confidence in their abilities.
