About Sophia
I have a few years of tutoring under my belt. From helping close family members children, to helping small groups of students in school, I have been making learning fun for many kids, even the ones who would rather play all day and find school boring or homework a waste of time. I used strategies to keep them focused and engaged in what they are learning. I do my best to keep learning interesting and fun so students can learn to enjoy it and retain the information.

My lessons are aimed for elementary level students who need help with their math or english work.
I will spend as much time as it takes to help your student with their math or english homework to help them better understand it. I will help your student learn how to use simple tools to figure out that difficult math problem or how to properly word that sentence in their english work.
When it comes to helping with math, I will spend a minimum of 20 minutes helping them with their homework. Whether it’s division, which can be difficult, I can teach them tools to make it easier for them to learn it, addition, I can also show them ways to make adding easier and more interesting for them, subtraction, which can also be a little tricky, I am able to show them ways to make subtraction fun, and multiplication, I can teach them simple and helpful strategies to learn how to multiply.
English can be difficult sometimes as well, I will show them the correct ways to word sentences, how to properly use punctuation, and help them with their spelling. It can be hard to learn how to make a good sentence and make it make sense. Some words can be hard to spell too, I will work with your students to help them learn to make a good sentence that is easy to understand.
I strive to make learning fun for young students because I know it can be boring, and many kids may just do what they think is right and not want to work anymore, I will make sure they get the help they need to understand how to complete their work effectively.
