About Lydia
I’m a bilingual Italian–English tutor who grew up in Italy and moved to the UK to study at university. I studied film at university and now work freelance as a camera assistant, collaborating on projects in film and television.
Alongside my work in the industry, I’ve always been drawn to teaching and sharing knowledge. I love helping people learn, whether that’s languages, art, or music and I believe learning works best when it’s creative, engaging, and confidence-building.
Outside of tutoring, I enjoy painting, reading, and exploring different forms of storytelling. These creative interests shape the way I teach, bringing curiosity, patience, and real-world context into every lesson.
My goal is to create a relaxed, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing at their own pace.

I offer one-to-one private tutoring designed to adapt to your goals, schedule, and learning style. Whether you’re a complete beginner or an intermediate learner looking to gain confidence, lessons are structured but flexible, ensuring steady progress without pressure.
I offer flexible hours to fit around work, school, or travel. I’m happy to do lessons online or in-person sessions (where available).
For beginners I aim on building strong foundations in grammar, pronunciation, and basic conversation.
For intermediate learners we can work on refining fluency, expanding vocabulary, and improving accuracy.
Each lesson can include a mix of:
- Grammar: explained clearly and practically
- Speaking & conversation: to build confidence and natural flow
- Listening & comprehension: using real-world examples
- Reading & writing: where helpful
Rather than relying solely on textbooks, I focus on language as it’s actually used, through conversation, everyday scenarios, and cultural context. This helps students speak naturally and understand more than just rules.
I aim to create a relaxed, motivating space where mistakes are part of learning. Progress is measured not just by accuracy, but by confidence and comfort using the language.
