About Rima
I'm Rima, a computer science graduate from Collège Ahuntsic, currently starting my BSc at Université de Montréal. I work as a software developer at a financial services firm and have three years of hands-on experience across web development, mobile apps, and AI tools.
I started tutoring in my second year after the college selected me as one of four students to support peers in their courses. Since then I've worked with more than 15 students in Java, Python, JavaScript, SQL, Swift, and Kotlin, and I also help with practical skills like Git and version control that courses often skip over.
I'm fluent in French and English and I adapt to whichever language you're more comfortable learning in.
I'm patient and I don't move on until something actually makes sense. If you've been struggling with a course or want to build a solid foundation before things get harder, I'm comfortable starting from the beginning.

I was selected as one of four students at Collège Ahuntsic to tutor peers in programming. 85% of the students I worked with improved their passing rate.
My approach is practical. We don't copy notes or sit through slides. We write code, break it, fix it, and talk through why it works. A typical session starts by figuring out what's actually confusing, then we work through a real problem together until it clicks, not just until the hour is up.
I teach Python, Java, JavaScript, SQL, Swift, Kotlin and more, and I explain everything in French or English depending on what you're more comfortable with.
My lessons are for CEGEP and university students, complete beginners starting from scratch, and anyone who's been struggling with a course and needs someone to explain it a different way. I have three years of industry experience and I'm currently working as a developer, so I can also show you how these concepts apply in real projects, not just on exams.
