About Kristina
Hi, I am Kristina, a Taiwanese American who loves to teach. Growing up in a Chinese-speaking household, I developed native fluency in Mandarin Chinese, both in speaking and writing. I have also had formal education in Chinese language and literature, further refining my skills and knowledge.
Over the years, I have honed my teaching abilities by providing Chinese language tutoring to students of various ages and language proficiency levels. I take great joy in helping others learn and improve their Chinese language skills, tailoring my approach to each student's unique needs and learning style.
Furthermore, I believe in fostering cultural understanding, as language and culture are intricately intertwined. I incorporate cultural elements into my lessons, sharing traditions, customs, and nuances of Chinese society to provide a well-rounded learning experience.

I love to orient my teaching around students' interests and believe this will help students adapt to the language faster. Therefore, lessons can vary from book reading and analyzing to translating lyrics and movie clips to build a positive learning environment while building a wide range of knowledge and vocabulary. I am comfortable teaching younger students as I also have experience teaching children K-12. Furthermore, besides being raised in a Chinese-speaking country, I have also passed the CWT Chinese exam.
