About Sanjana
Hi, I’m Sanjana, a Medicine undergraduate at UNSW with a deep passion for both learning and teaching. Having been through the challenges of rigorous subjects like Biology, Chemistry, and English myself, I understand how overwhelming they can feel without the right guidance. That’s one of the main reasons I started tutoring 5 years ago — to make these subjects less intimidating and to show students that with the right approach, they can actually enjoy and excel in them. What motivates me most is seeing the transformation in my students: from confusion to clarity, from struggling to scoring distinctions, and from self-doubt to confidence. Teaching isn’t just about delivering content for me — it’s about mentoring, encouraging, and helping each student reach their potential. Every time a student tells me they finally “get it” or shows me an improved result, it reminds me why I love tutoring and why I continue to do it alongside pursuing medicine.

My approach to tutoring is simple: I focus on understanding each student’s unique needs and tailoring lessons so they feel confident, motivated, and supported. I don’t believe in rote memorization; instead, I break concepts down into clear, practical steps and show students how to apply their knowledge effectively in exams. Whether it’s mastering essay structures in English, tackling challenging Biology topics, or making Chemistry concepts click, I adjust my teaching pace to suit each student. Over the years, my students have consistently improved not just in grades, but also in their confidence and enjoyment of learning, which I believe is just as important.
