About Alex
I recently completed my Honours Biochemistry degree from McMaster University with a 3.92 GPA. I have always taken pride in my own academics and found a passion in inspiring a similar interest for subjects I love among others through my teaching experiences at a grade-school and undergraduate level. I try my best to maintain a cordial atmosphere during my lessons to facilitate my students' engagement, and I was flattered to receive overwhelmingly positive feedback from my undergraduate students using this approach. Additionally, my commitment to creating an enjoyable learning experience has been proudly recognized by the Chanan Singh Sandhu Award.
I've had such an incredible time teaching, so I've opted to continue tutoring after completing my degree, and I hope to help you reach your goals soon!

I first started tutoring students in grade school because I wanted to inspire an interest in learning among others. I always try to find common interests when I'm first getting to know a student as this facilitates their engagement during the lesson, making them more open to asking questions and understanding that I'm committed to helping them achieve their academic goals alongside them. I ensure that all of my lessons are personalized to the needs of the student, and was awarded the Chanan Singh Sandhu Award for my committed efforts to this.
I since went on to become a Teaching Assistant at an undergraduate level and employed the same teaching method of maintaining a cordial atmosphere around the lesson, and received overwhelmingly flattering feedback from my students at the end of each semester.
A typical lesson plan therefore involves me getting to know the student, and guiding them through questions/homework/assignments that they may send me ahead of time (to aid my preparation for the lesson). I have extensive experience teaching kindergarteners to undergraduate students, and am comfortable teaching up to an undergraduate level.
