About Julia
I have taught and directed chemistry camps, TA for my university in chemistry, have laboratory research experience, and have been heavily involved in my school's Chemical Sciences Department for at least 3 years (have been awarded multiple times for outstanding academic and service work); outside of the academic field, I have also worked as a nanny, taught Sunday school, and been a camp counselor multiple times, so I have quite a bit of experience in working with people of all ages and stages.

I don't believe in one sort of teaching method-- my biggest focus as a teacher or tutor is learning how I can best suit my student. Exploring different studying and teaching methods and listening to/working WITH each student individually is the way to achieve academic success. Finding your study niche is simply finding the key to a world of educational understanding; it's like a puzzle we can figure out how to piece together, and I love the challenge and the excitement when a student reaches their "a-ha" moment and realizes the potential they have! I want my students to see that science is fun and easy for all-- each person is so unique, including in thinking, sometimes all it takes is a little patience, a lot of diligence, and a few different ways of explaining a concept for things to "click."

Julia and I attended the same college, were part of the semester scholarship choir for a year, and she was a member of the Bible study/community service group that I led. I have also watched Julia excel as a resident assistance for two years. She is a genuinely caring leader with compassion for everyone she interacts with, which really is the heart of teaching. She gives her whole self to everything she is involved in. Julia is also incredibly intelligent -- she was lab partners with my boyfriend in a high level bio chemistry class, and he always spoke very highly of Julia as his favorite peer to work with.
