About Rachael
Hey! I'm Rachael and I'm an undergraduate studying biochemistry in Scotland. Tutoring is something I've always wanted to get into. The fact that I'm still a student myself means I can relate; I know the type of guidance you will need. I want to see students succeed, and I know how tough formal examinations can be.
In terms of my personal interests, I'm a cello player and an aspiring triple jumper. I've always had a passion for biological sciences, and I hope that in tutoring you, I can teach you to love and appreciate the beauty of biology. Yes it can be difficult, but it gets a little easier when you're enjoying learning too!
Prior to university, I was an academic scholar at a successful independent school. I tutored younger pupils in the school and even had the chance to give presentations about my favourite areas of the subject to member of the staff and pupil body.

Lessons will typically last from 30-60 minutes. The lesson structure itself may differ depending on whether you're preparing for an exam, learning a new topic or trying to consolidate your existing knowledge.
The bulk of lesson content will be based on worked examples that I will guide you through, but also me talking you through your own work and trying to fill any gaps in your knowledge. But of course this is flexible, feel free to tell me how best you learn and I can cater to that!
My lessons are aimed at those studying for GCSEs or international A levels with CIE.
In terms of my experience, I've achieved A*A*AB at A level and no lower than a grade 8 at GCSE. The fact that this was fairly recent for me as well means that I know exactly how you feel! And more importantly, I know what you'll need for success in your exams, even with the newer format.
