About Anastasia
Biochemistry Undergraduate at the University of Bristol offering support sessions for Biology Chemistry Maths English and History lessons from the start of Secondary School to A level.
After achieving all Grade 9s and A*s at GCSE at North London Collegiate I have been able to support younger years in their learning in Chemistry Maths and English for the last five years. I have tutored 1 on 1 for 6 subjects holding support and study sessions for a number of students about to sit GCSE exams or younger middle school years that just need some extra help. One girl in particular was predicted a Grade 5 in Chemistry and after having several in-depth support sessions we were able to make sure she received a Grade 8 (an A* under the new system) in three months.
Having gone through the end of year exams at a top school myself I know how rigorous the scheme of work is and how difficult it is to be motivated. Initially, I assess students' capabilities via taking a standard subject test for their year group (11+ practice test to GCSE papers to identify which topics the student struggles with and which they excel at. From then on I go through basic topic tests and slowly explain difficulties in order to solidify my understanding of the student's ability. I understand that one explanation for a problem may not always be enough so I continue to explain methods in different ways until I am confident that the student has grasped the concept as this is really important to me. The same follows with other subjects I tutor so I am able to efficiently plan my lessons so they are used effectively. I make my own notes and have access to several resources such as exclusive past papers and topic papers for students to use for practice on individual subjects.

Useful information - I attend the University of Bristol studying Biochemistry and attended North London Collegiate School in Edgware (Consistently a TOP 3 UK school in both the independent and state sector) and I have 12 GCSE qualifications all either Grade 9 or A*, I did triple science and higher level mathematics at GCSE. I am taking Maths (A) Chemistry (A*) Geography (A*) and Art (D1) for A Level.
