About Henry
I'm Henry, a third year bioengineering student at Imperial College London. I have a passion for chemistry and its role in the world around us. My background in engineering, data analysis, and emerging technologies has given me a unique perspective on problem solving which I bring into every tutoring session. Rather than just memorising reactions, I help students see the logic behind their mechanisms, understand the thermodynamic underpinnings of the subject, and appreciate how chemistry influences fields like medicine, materials science, and biotechnology. Beyond my studies, I have worked on projects ranging from boat engineering to heart rate variability analysis and microfluidic chip design, giving me a strong interdisciplinary approach to problem-solving. This broader experience allows me to connect chemistry to real-world applications, making it more intuitive, engaging, and relevant for students. If you’ve ever wondered why chemistry matters or how it connects to cutting-edge technology and medicine, I’d love to show you!

Many students struggle with chemistry because they try to memorise everything without truly understanding it. My goal is to change that by helping to develop an intuitive grasp of the subject. Whether you need help with reaction mechanisms, spectroscopy, thermodynamics, or exam strategy, I tailor lessons to your needs, breaking down complex topics into their core concepts. I offer tutoring for GCSE, A-Level and IB chemistry, with a focus on problem-solving and understanding over memorisation. My hour-long lessons usually involve taking an exam question, breaking it down into its core components, and identifying and then understanding the underlying concepts before building back up to similar questions. If you're looking to improve your grades, gain confidence, or develop a deeper appreciation for chemistry, let’s work together to make it happen!
