About Katelyn
I have my Master's in Bioinformatics and majored in Genetics and Anatomy in my undergrad. I have a huge passion for everything science and mathematics and love working with data. I have been tutoring for around 6 years now and absolutely love it. Each and every one of my students has seen a robust improvement in their marks, but, more importantly, has grown in confidence in their subjects.

My approach to tutoring is to start at ground level and work up. I make lessons fun by using enjoyable ways of remembering facts, incorporating multimedia, and using active recall to make exams as painless as possible. If able, I like to add some further enrichment so that if something pops up in a test that wasn't in the curriculum, you have the tools to be able to handle it head on. I teach predominantly in English with limited Afrikaans. In a typical lesson we would cover the theory, work through some text book questions, and then work through exam questions. If we identify any areas of weakness we focus on those until everything is 100% understood.
