The bulk of my experience began with in-person, one-on-one tutoring sessions. I was recruited to teach individuals who were struggling in their subjects and therefore required dedicated help and support beyond the classroom.
I believe in a traditional teaching approach:
- One-on-one classes
- Delivering lessons clearly and directly assuming no prior knowledge (it is key that foundational principles be taught first; from my experience a lack of understanding of a core theory is the most common cause of misunderstanding later on)
-It is important to be kind, supportive and encouraging.

Experienced tutor in both Chemistry and Biology for GCSE and A-level. My speciality lies with those undertaking the Pearson Edexcel exam board (for which I have previously been an online examiner for.)
The tutoring I offer is aimed for exam preparation specifically.
My tutees may message me directly with questions regarding coursework/homework assignments throughout the week prior to our lesson so I can tailor the lesson plan to their specific gaps in knowledge. From my experience, the most successful results come from lessons that utilise past paper questions, active recall and targeted feedback.
To accommodate for the fact that school hours are ~8-4pm, I operate by offering afternoon and evening sessions (4pm-onwards) as well as all day Saturday or Sunday. Parents are more than welcome to sit in on any calls if they wish.
