About Katie
When you invest in tutoring with me, you’re investing in more than just getting through an assignment—you’re investing in truly understanding the material. My goal is to help you become confident enough that you eventually won’t need me.
With nearly two decades of college teaching experience and a Ph.D. in Biology, I’ve worked with students of every background and ability level. I’ve helped students who were failing courses earn passing grades, students aiming for A’s achieve their goals, and future healthcare professionals build the strong scientific foundation they need for their careers.
Every session is tailored to your learning style. I don’t simply give answers; I teach you how to think through problems, recognize patterns, and retain information. Whether you’re preparing for a big test, trying to improve your grades, or just working on building your confidence in science, I’ll meet you where you are and help you get where you want to be. I make difficult science feel less intimidating by using humor, memorable analogies, and real-world examples. I am patient, encouraging, and never make students feel embarrassed for asking questions. As someone who was once the student who needed things explained more than once, I understand how important it is to feel supported. My goal is not just to help students get the right answer, but to help them understand the material, remember it, and feel more confident tackling it on their own.
