About Sydney
I’m a proud graduate of the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW), and for the past seven years, I’ve dedicated myself to helping new—and sometimes hesitant—students build confidence in their learning. My lessons are guided by patience, a strong sense of humor, and a focus on making real-life connections to academic concepts. There’s nothing more rewarding to me than watching first-time learners shift from ‘I’m just trying to pass’ to ‘I’ve totally got this!’—often raising their grades by an entire letter by the end of the year.

Feeling a little (or a lot) overwhelmed by science? My lessons are your safe, simple, and welcoming entry point. We begin with the real basics, using silly stories, visual mind-maps, and practical analogies (“like why plants are like solar panels”) so every idea sticks. You can ask anything, as often as you need, and we take regular “confidence breaks” to check your comfort. End of lesson: a fun recap challenge, simple home connection, and a short positive note about your progress so you always know you’re moving forward.
