I really like to approach problems by giving background information and ensuring that students understand what they are doing. I want them to know why and how you approach problems so that there is understanding not memorization. Science is more interesting when you understand what’s happening and it makes concepts more concrete. This approach also works well ensuring success in thinking and application.
