About João
I like to work together with the student, in a semi-structured way, seeking to understand their previous knowledge in Biology, their difficulties and their interests, and, from there, develop a personalized teaching plan that deals with concepts using everyday examples. I also believe in teaching by experience, in which the student leaves the environment of books and notebooks a little, and get the hands dirty, learning through the use of scientific methodology. The student will take advantage of expository classes, theoretical exercises and practical classes and exercises, all designed and elaborated according to the level of each student and their objectives. For English and French classes, I believe that it is better to structure the classes better, focusing on specific formats and each proficiency exam (eg TOEFL, FCE, DELF). If the student is looking for a first contact with the language, or conversation classes, I am also here to help!

Hi! I'm João, biologist, PhD in Ecology at UNICAMP and in Neuroscience at Université Paul Sabatier. I have always been very interested in research and teaching, and I have experience in the areas of Botany, Ecology, Biochemistry and Neuroscience. I am currently studying how pesticides affect the behavior of Brazilian bees. I'm from Ribeirão Preto, and I live here, but I've lived in France for my doctorate. I am also fluent in English and French.
