About Micha
I'm a 2nd-year Zoology undergraduate with a passion for all things biology and career aspirations in research. I have always enjoyed academia, and I passed both the IB Diploma (secondary level education) and my 1st year of college at the top of my class (achieving 42/45 points and 86.25%, respectively).
I am also an intern researcher at the Institute of Botany of the Czech Academy of Sciences, and the main author of a research paper on climate change and plant-herbivore interactions, which is now close to being published!
I don't have experience with formal tutoring, but as a high-achieving student, I have been called upon by my peers many times to help or explain lesson material. And I love doing so!
If you're interested in a bit of anecdotal evidence: In secondary school, I was what you could call the "local know-it-all". That perhaps doesn't sound like a flattering characteristic, but it certainly is beneficial for tutoring. My classmates would shout questions at me from across the room, appearing shocked if I occasionally I didn't know the answer. One of their reactions really stuck with me: "I thought you knew everything, Micha!"
To conclude: I love biology, I love academia, and I'm looking forward to utilizing my passions to help other students!

I teach Biology at the following levels:
- Leaving Cert
- IB Diploma Programme
- lower undergraduate
I like to tailor my lessons to the needs of the student. I will consider:
- What material do you need to cover?
- What resources were given to you by your teacher?
- What is the goal - passing an exam, making a project, or simply improving understanding of a challenging topic?
- What style of learning do you like - listening to presentations, playing games and quizzes, or interactive note-making and diagram-drawing? Or perhaps just a casual conversation?
