About Eric
Hi, my name is Eric Kim, and I'm a rising Freshman at Northwestern University!! I'm going to college for biomedical engineering, and hope to help students, preferably anywhere from middle school-high school age (although I have tutored numerous college students in the past) get accepted into their dream college, ace their test scores (AP/SAT/ACT), and help families achieve the best for their kids.
I have a passion for STEM and medicine, having competed in numerous national & international high school competitions across the nation, receiving accolades in: HOSA internationals, Science Olympiad, National Science Bowl, and the USA Biology Olympiad. But besides my passion for competing and building my own future, I've always loved helping others along with me. Having over 5+ years of tutoring experience, I started teaching others right after my eighth grade graduation. Taking inspiration from my own tutor in middle school, I hoped to impact others in a similar way. Ever since then, I've accumulated thousands of hours tutoring, in fields ranging from math, biology, chemistry, reading, and all STEM fields.
Regarding my credentials, I scored 5s across every AP Science Exam I took (Including AP Physics C, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, and AP Environmental Science), and my academic background spans advanced biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics. I also have direct research experience in neuroscience and biomedical engineering at top labs such as Northwestern Medicine Seargle and Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, which gives me both a practitioner's and student's perspective working directly with patients and peers my age. when explaining how science actually works.
What sets me apart is not just academic proficiency, but a genuine commitment to each student's growth. I don't just help you memorize concepts: I help you build the natural intuition to novel problems.
