My wife and I started taking Portuguese lessons with Renato because we love Brazil and want to be able to speak with people when we travel there. Now, it’s turned into something we look forward to every time! We are excited for lessons, we practice during the week, and Renato is always adapting to us, teaching us both cultural elements and in depth language grammar, speaking, pronunciation, slang! Everything we need to be able to feel comfortable in a crowd of Brazilians :) we love Renato! We can tell with every lesson how much time and soul he puts into the session.

Renato has been my Portuguese teacher for some time now and I can only say good things. Renato always brings so much energy into his lessons - it’s never boring, like it was to learn a language in school for example. He doesn’t skim though topics - instead he gives a lot of speaking and listening practice, interactive games, and repetition for the harder topics that require more time and memorization. Renato is a great portuguese teacher! He is very patient with us students. No matter how long it takes us to comprehend a new concept, he will repeat and explain until we understand. I also find it helpful that Renato takes the time to write out what he is explaining so that we can see how the words are pronounced. It makes it easy to take notes in his class to study vocabulary on my own later. I love learning portuguese because Renato makes it interesting. I would absolutely recommend taking lessons from Renato.

I'm a Portuguese instructor myself, but as I speak European Portuguese I wanted to become proficient in spoken Brazilian Portuguese. I couldn't have asked for a better instructor than Renato. Not only is he very knowledgeable about all registers of the language, from the most formal to the most casual, he's also a true expert on and an excellent guide to Brazilian culture. Renato is a great Portuguese teacher who takes the time to break down complicated grammar topics and make them easy to understand. I also appreciate the pronunciation exercises and listening to music with lyrics of words we had just learned. It really helps reinforce what was taught.

Professor Amado was my Portuguese instructor at Brown University. He is really kind, dedicated, and supportive. My Portuguese absolutely improved after I took his class. I do recommend him!!! He offers an interactive and relax environment that helps you increase your confidence. He is also very knowledgeable and you get a meaningful sense of Portuguese speaking cultures in his class. I absolutely agree that he is a trustworthy teacher and, beyond that, he is an exceptional educator. You won't regreat choosing him as your instructor.

Renato is a great professor! He is very good at explaining the lessons, and the complex differences in grammar between English and Portuguese. He is very professional, always well prepared, and his fun with his lessons. I highly recommend!
