In addition to being one of my course lecturers, Brendon was also my dissertation advisor. I found him to be an incredibly dedicated and supportive man for whom nothing was too much trouble. The experience he has is second to none and I'm certain that one of the reasons I am the teacher/pastoral leader I am today is due to the time, guidance, and unwavering support he gave me through my training. Brendon McGuire was a senior lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University which I attended. During my time there, I found him to be very professional and knowledgeable in his subject matter. Though this we developed a strong relationship as I felt I could go to Brendon for advice not only on my course work but about University life as a whole. Brendon always made time for his students and had an open door policy. Brendon played a key role in me obtaining my dream job when I graduated.

Brendon helped me in all aspects of my studies both at undergraduate and postgraduate level. What you will find when you work with Brendon is that he will challenge you in all aspects of your work and will aid in the process of bettering yourself in reading, writing, listening etc.
He was my supervisor for my Masters degree and now provides online tuition for me at Doctoral level: this has been highly effective in terms of helping me to improve both my research and writing skills.

Brendon was an 'outstanding' lecturer and friend during my time at MMU. His positive personality really pushed me to achieve my best. No matter how hard something may have been for me, Brendon always made time to support me through my studies.
He is a true role model to all of his students. His knowledge in Physical Education and Sports Pedagogy is exceptional. His skills which he passed onto all student teachers are still being implemented by myself and many others today.

Brendon was an inspiration to myself and many other students during my time at MMU. He was extremely knowledgeable but it was his mannerism and willingness to help which made him a firm favourite with everybody in the year. Brendon always took a personal interest in my football and recent achievements and made me feel relaxed, thus willing to work for him. He would go above and beyond the call of duty. He is an outstanding practitioner and somebody who I would highly recommend.

Brendon is a calm, warm and friendly lecturer who cares a great deal about his students. He is a great listener who always makes time for his students. This is a quality I try to always take in my practice today as a classroom teacher and head of key stage. His classes were interesting and thought provoking and I always took away a great deal from them - something which is quite difficult at times for a 19 year old student! Brendon is a great man, who was respected and highly thought of by all.
