About Iarla
My name is Iarla, I am a professional bass player living in Dublin and have been playing the bass for 9 years. I have just recently graduated from BIMM University, with a BA Hons in Commercial Modern Music. I have experience in session work around Dublin, and have performed in venues such as the National Concert Hall, the Button Factory, Electric Picnic, Body & Soul and the Barbican Hall. I love playing bass, and picking up the instrument was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I'm passionate about teaching this instrument and sharing the knowledge I've picked up from playing in numerous different situations and genres.

With these lessons, the aim will be to teach you about whatever genre of music you are interested in. I can offer lessons on any style, with my main areas being: -RnB -Funk -Rock -Jazz (+Jazz Fusion) -Hip-hop -Pop -Indie -Soul -Blues I offer lessons from beginner to advanced, to children and adults. The lessons will take techniques seen in different styles of playing and apply them to songs for an active learning experience. These techniques include: -Fingerstyle -Plectrum -Slapping -Palm muting -Left hand technique -Sight reading -Harmonic theory Lessons will be delivered at your pace, and I'll ensure you won't be overwhelmed (or underwhelmed) by the content :) Feel free to get in touch about booking your first free lesson.

Perfect! Iarla is an exceptional bass teacher with extensive expertise and a great ability to explain even complex concepts very clearly. He’s incredibly accommodating, even offering at home lessons, which makes learning very convenient. I really appreciate how he tailors each session to suit my interests and goals. His broad stylistic range has opened me up to new approaches and techniques, making lessons with him both engaging and insightful. Highly recommended! :)
Perfect! Iarla is brilliant with my son Senan. He has loved the lessons so far. He tells him about his up coming gigs, which he loves hearing about. Iarla has a great communication style and is so patient. Obviously knows his stuff! I highly recommend Iarla and am delighted Senan is continuing to progress and keep his interest in guitar.
