About Theo
Math did not come naturally to me as a kid. For a long time it felt unintuitive and frustrating, the kind of subject that made me question whether I was simply "not a math person."
What changed everything was one tutor who met me where I was and rebuilt my confidence piece by piece, until frustration turned into curiosity and then into passion. That shift led me to study Computer Science at Brown University, and I am now pursuing a Master's in Robotics at Northeastern.
Because I have been the struggling student, I know how powerful good tutoring can be, and how the right guidance can change not just a grade but how a student sees themselves. I lean on the same techniques that once helped me, the ones that turn a confusing topic into something that finally clicks.
I have built on that belief through years of teaching, including work as a Teaching Assistant for an introductory engineering course at Brown and private tutoring across a range of subjects and levels. Each student comes in with vastly different backgrounds and experience, and I have learned how to tailor my teaching to complement the strengths of each one. As a result, I have gained experience developing visual explanations, hands-on practice, and different ways of framing the same idea, all to ensure that I reach every student.

I believe the best learning happens when a concept actually makes sense, not when it's memorized. So I start every topic by walking through the underlying process and the "why" behind it. Once that foundation is there, we work through examples together, step by step. Then I hand the reins over, giving students the satisfaction of tackling these practice problems on their own while I observe, stepping in only when they get stuck. That last stage is where real confidence and enthusiasm gets built.
I love to 3D print small physical demonstrations, or code up visualizations and interactive programs that turns confusing, unintuitive topics into something you can see and play with. I find a little bit of prep like this goes a long way for the students engagement and understanding.
I tutor Math, Physics, and Computer Science across all levels, from middle school through college. Whether you need to solidify fundamentals, prep for an exam, or work through a tough university course, I'll meet you where you are and build from there.
