About Tehreem

Growing up, I always believed English was my weakest subject. I genuinely thought I would never be good at it. I remember sitting in class, feeling like everyone else was ahead of me and wondering if I'd ever catch up.
But then I met a teacher who changed the way I looked at learning English. Instead of making me feel bad about what I didn't know, she understood where I was struggling and helped me believe that I could actually improve.

And that's where my little English-learning adventure began!

I started speaking to myself in front of the mirror, listening to English songs, and trying to copy different accents. I was especially obsessed with Ed Sheeran's songs. I even remember singing one of his songs in class, attempting my best accent, only to have my classmates laugh at me.

Was it embarrassing? Absolutely. Did I stop? Nope!

By the time I was 16, I had gone from being one of the students who struggled with English to becoming the top English student in my class. Not because I was naturally gifted, but because I had finally discovered how much fun learning could be.

And yes, English movies and Netflix series deserve some credit too. I went from struggling to understand conversations to watching entire shows without subtitles. That's still a little achievement I'm proud of, haha!

A year later, at 17, I took the IELTS exam and achieved one of the highest scores in my class, even though many of my classmates were almost 10 years older than me.

But what I remember most isn't the score. It's something my IELTS trainer said in front of the entire class.

He said something along the lines of, "I've watched this 17-year-old girl struggle and work hard every single day. While our classes lasted only an hour, she would stay and practise for four hours. She wasn't the most naturally gifted student, but look at what she's achieved."

And honestly, I've never forgotten those words.

Today, I've been teaching English for 2 years, and I carry that experience into every lesson.

I'm also an artist, so creativity naturally finds its way into how I teach. I enjoy finding different ways to explain things, making lessons interesting, and figuring out what works for each student. If one explanation doesn't make sense, we'll try another. I don't believe there's only one way to learn something.

I know what it's like to feel behind, to make mistakes, and to wonder whether you're capable of learning a language. I've been that student.
And while I know learning is a lifelong journey, one thing I'm certain about is that a good teacher can make a huge difference.

I was lucky enough to have a teacher who changed my relationship with English. Now, I hope I can be that teacher for someone else.

I believe learning English shouldn't feel like sitting through a lecture where you're afraid to make mistakes. It should feel like a conversation where you're learning something new, getting better with practice, and actually enjoying the process.

I've been teaching English for 2 years, and one thing I've learned is that no two students learn the same way. Some need help finding the confidence to speak, while others struggle with grammar, pronunciation, listening, reading, or putting their thoughts into words.

What you can expect from my lessons:

Speaking & Listening: Real conversations, listening activities, and exercises to help you understand and speak English more naturally.
Grammar & Vocabulary: Simple explanations, relatable examples, and plenty of practice without making things unnecessarily complicated.
Reading & Writing: Activities to improve comprehension, sentence structure, and the ability to express your ideas clearly.
Pronunciation: Working on English sounds, word stress, and clearer speech at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

I use a mix of explanations, interactive activities, examples, and practice rather than expecting students to memorise everything.

My lessons are suitable for beginners and intermediate learners, whether you're a school student, an adult improving your everyday English, a freelancer struggling to understand English speaking clients, or someone who simply wants to feel more comfortable using the language.

And if you make mistakes? That's completely fine. That's what we're here to work on.
