About Brenda
I’ve been teaching children for close to 8 years, mainly through private and small-group settings.
Over the years, I’ve worked with students of different personalities, learning styles, and abilities, helping them build both their Language and Math foundations with confidence. I’m grateful that many parents have also returned to me with referrals to their friends and other families, which reflects the trust they have in my teaching approach.
My teaching style is patient, warm, and encouraging, while still structured and firm when it comes to effort and learning. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy tennis, yoga, and Pilates, which have taught me the value of consistency, discipline, and patience. These are qualities I bring into my lessons. I believe children learn best when they feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and learning at their own pace, while still being encouraged to stay focused and accountable.

Every child learns differently, so I believe tutoring should never be a one-size-fits-all approach.
I take the time to understand each student’s learning style, strengths, weaknesses, and areas where they may need extra support.
My approach is patient, encouraging, and structured, while still being firm when it comes to effort, practice, and understanding the fundamentals. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, but I also believe in holding them accountable and helping them develop good learning habits.
For primary school students, I focus on building foundations rather than simply copying and memorizing answers. I break down challenging concepts into smaller, easier-to-understand steps and use plenty of practice to reinforce their understanding.
My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to build their confidence and help them become more independent learners. I want them to eventually look at a challenging math question and think, “I know how to approach this.”
