About Tainou
Hi,
My name is Tainou S. Hoeve and I live in North Vancouver, B.C., Canada. I have a Bachelors in Busininess Administration and a TESOL ESL Teaching Certificate from the Canadian College of Linguistics. I've published two novels on Amazon under pseudonyms and - hold on.
That's all boring. You're probably wondering why you should choose me as your superprof!
Well, teaching runs in my veins. From my grandpa on my dads side, teaching astronomy and physics at NIU, right down to 80% of my aunts living in Brazil - you guessed it - they're all teachers! I had my first dose of being an ESL teacher in 2015 in Illinois, close to Chicago, where I helped an 8 year old Brazilian girl settle into her new classroom. Then again in 2022 working for the SEE Academy where I tutored Gr. 1 -8 students with their English and Math.
As my friend once described the profession, teaching really is food for the soul. And I couldnt agree more.
When I'm not working, I enjoy eating good food, going to the gym, being outdoors, and learning new skills. At the moment, I'm learning about computer programming. I already know a few languages!
All that aside, what I look forwards to most is teaching you the language I know best: English.

My teaching methodology takes on a sudent focus approach aka personalized learning.
I will diagnose your current level of understanding, where you want to be, your abilities and interests and then calculate the necessary steps to get you where you want to be, confident and fluent!
We will use a variety of exciting and engaging hands-on exercises involving reading, writing and speaking.
These lessons are for kindergarten through high-school and beyond.
