About Izzie
I am a recent Cambridge English graduate with a passion for English literature and a desire to inspire enthusiasm and excellent progress in my students. In terms of tutoring experience, I have run personal statement and Oxbridge admissions workshops at my former secondary school, tutored secondary school students at Explore Learning and volunteered as an English teacher at Beckmead special needs secondary school in Croydon. I have around 100 hours of experience and I can't wait to expand and teach further! I am particularly passionate about helping state-school children with Oxbridge admissions since I personally could not have got in to Cambridge without the extra support given to me by a few key teachers and form tutors. My lessons tend to be an hour long and -- depending on the kind of university entrance help you are after -- can focus on: - Crafting, editing and polishing personal statements. - Analysing samples of texts and discussing them for Oxbridge interview preparations as well as discussing and refining a student's literary interests. - Preparing for the ELAT.
