About James
I have a BA(Hons) degree in Music from the University of Cambridge and I am now studying for a Masters in violin performance at the Royal Academy Of Music . Whilst my career will be as a professional violinist, I achieved my DipABRSM and LRSM diplomas in piano whilst studying at Chetham's School of Music aged 10-18. I consider myself very lucky to have benefited from such an extremely high level of musical education, both academically and instrumentally. Therefore, I find passing on my knowledge and skills thoroughly rewarding.

I teach violin up to any level, piano up to grade 8 level, Music Theory up to A-level and degree level and German up to GCSE level. I also have much experience with beginner instrumentalists, as I enjoy teaching my many young cousins. My approach with younger students involves composing and memorising pieces together as we go, so as to involve them in, and inspire them with, the musical process. With all my musical pupils, I equip them with practice techniques so that they are able to develop with confidence outside of lessons and maximise progress.
