About James
I have tutored students from the age of 4-17 in Maths and Physics for the past three years. One of my greatest successes was with a GCSE Physics student. I managed to raise his grade from a D to a high B and inspired him to take Physics at A-Level. I am personally very proficient at Maths and am confident that I can explain material to suit different levels. I achieved a first class in my undergraduate degree - graduating 14th out of a year of 250 students and in my final years, I specialised in Quantum Physics, Black Holes, General Relativity and String Theory!

I like to adapt my lessons to suit the student, which could be lots of repetition, drawing more diagrams or using real world examples. I’m patient, understanding and keen to give my students a plan and regular mini recaps to ensure that they are attaining all the information. I aim to inspire my students, not just teach. I know that a strong Maths background can be very helpful for the future. I do this by showing my passion for Maths as well as lots of positive reinforcement to ensure the student maintains attention and gains confidence. I am also happy to provide additional notes, resources or questions to allow for my students to keep progressing in between our sessions.
