About Jake
I am a second year undergraduate student at the University of Cambridge, studying maths. I have always enjoyed the teaching aspect of school and university the most - for me, one of the main joys of learning is being able to pass on that knowledge to others! Besides work and teaching, I am a keen climber and baker.

Are you looking for a private tutor? I am a second year undergraduate at the University of Cambridge, with over four years of experience tutoring maths and science for 11+, GCSE, A-level and Oxbridge admissions. I achieved four A*s at A-level and equivalent 12 A*s at GCSE; I teach my students the tips and methods that helped me achieve this.
I am passionate about my subject - exams can be stressful, but I believe that with good teaching nobody should have to struggle. Having worked in mentoring schemes throughout secondary school, I have been trained in teaching clearly and effectively.
I am also experienced at helping with Oxbridge admissions - having helped the University of Cambridge admissions team and gone through the process myself. I am currently a student helper with Cambridge Maths admissions, where I have recorded solution videos and helped with online webinars.
MY LESSON STRUCTURE:
I ask my students what they would like to cover a few days before the lesson - this enables me to tailor the lesson to your needs. My lessons will typically begin with a focus on content, identifying gaps in knowledge and strengthening what has been covered already. I then reinforce this content with practice questions from the relevant exam board.
HOMEWORK:
If desired, I set and mark homework to consolidate what we have been through in lessons. This also enables me to provide you with feedback on how you are doing, tailoring the lessons to what you have struggled on.
