About Matthew
I am currently a second year undergraduate studying maths at Cambridge. I achieved a grade 1 in both STEP 2 & 3. At A-level, I attained A* in maths, further maths and physics. At GCSE, I achieved 12 9s. I have experience tutoring at GCSE, and mentoring STEP applicants. I have also given mock interviews on behalf of Cambridge at open days.

I aim to tailor lessons to help the student achieve a depth of understanding, and teach exam technique off of a strong foundation. It is my experience that understanding in maths comes through tackling good problems, and I strongly believe that problem skills are best developed by allowing the student to spend some time stuck on a problem before providing hints. I believe that learning how to approach problems in the right way goes hand in hand with a proper grasp of concepts, and the contexts in which they relate.
