About Katarina
I graduated from the University of Cambridge with a BA and MPhil in History in the summer of 2023.
I have experience tutoring with the social mobility charity Zero Gravity, where I mentored a student from a low-income background during their university applications. I undertook weekly 1 hour session on zoom with my mentee, talking over suggested readings, editing their personal statement, preparing for pre-interview assessments, and importantly doing interview practice. My mentee subsequently received an offer from Cambridge, and all other UCAS choices.
I currently have time off after studying before starting a new job in London in March 2024. I am keen to tutor in the meantime, and willing to take students from 11+, GCSES, and up to university applications.
At school I did the IB (international baccalaureate), studying HL History, Latin, Economics, and SL English, Chemistry and Maths studies (7 in all of them). For GCSEs, I studied History, Latin, Greek, German, French, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Music, Maths, English Literature and Language, (A* in all).

I would take an exam focused approach to each lesson, preparing the student to be able to tackle realistic exam questions and problems. With humanities subjects the aim would also be to build up essay writing skills. Each lesson would have a specific topic focus, going over a specific poem or history topic or latin set text passage. It will be structured around questions that are likely to frame an exam, helping form ideas into concrete plans for how to tackle and write coherently about the given area.
