About Milo
I am an astrophysics graduate, but I love all science and maths. I take great pleasure in understanding the world around me and enjoy sharing that understanding.
I tutor because I enjoy it. I care about all my students and try to provide the best service. I hope that my passion is a little contagious and they capture some of it too.

I have been tutoring for 4 years, and have learnt that lessons are most effective when they adapted for each students needs. Lesson length, frequency and focus are all adapted to help the student learn in their best environment. I take time to clearly understand the students motivation for tutoring, so I can best help them.
Each lesson is unique, but I have a common philosophy. I put emphasis on understanding the core concept first, before application. Once the understanding is there, I focus on the application to questions, finally focussing on exam technique. I believe this order is important - learning methods of answering exam questions without a deep understanding will only lead students into trouble.
Students actively engage in my lessons, I am to make them do most of the work, I am there to guide them to understanding it themselves. This is the most powerful aspect of learning. It is vitally important to have a good relationship with a student and promote a positive, error free culture in the lessons. I try to make the student feel as comfortable as possible, free to interrupt and make guesses.
