Geoff was my econometrics lecturer at USYD. I could not recommend his teaching enough - he is by far the best lecturer I had. Geoff keeps you engaged through some of the most difficult econometric/stats models. I never felt I was asking a silly question - his support and passion for the subject is incredible.

As for an example, although Geoff had over 200+ students in the class he would make time for everyone. I studied mostly from South Africa and due to the different time zone, Geoff would create another consult just so I could keep up.

His lecture is excellent. He will prepare the content of each class carefully. It's easy to keep track of your weekly schedule and it can help you stop procrastinating. All the information is very complete. Whether your English is good or not, you can dare to ask him questions, because he is always very kind and patient. Don't hesitate to experience his lessons!

Dr. Shuetrim is a trustworthy professor.Not only does he possess a respectable academic ability, but he will also adjust the courses and teaching to the needs of his students. He cares about students' feedback and their study process. When I studied Econometrics, R language was challenging for me because I knew nothing about it. However, Dr. Shuetrim noticed the situation and added the foundation courses for students like me so that we could catch up other students. I am very grateful to him because of his help I finally got a high distinction score in this course.

During Covid-19, I could only have lectures and tutorial online. The online courses are generally much more difficult than in person classes, making me struggling with study and exams. However, I met Geoff as my lecturer. He guided us the way to study, reminded us to watch lecture in time. He taught us not only the academic knowledge, but also how to consider your future career. Gradually, I got high distinction performance in econometrics from only credit grade at beginning. Sometimes, classmates would comment Geoff was a strict teacher. But I think it is because of his rigorousness, we can learn the knowledge well. Thus, Geoff is really a good teacher and a trustworthy man.
