About Kass
Hello there, I'm Kass! I've been working freelance as an Illustrator and Cartoonist for 5+ years, doing various commissions ranging from illustration jobs to character design. I take inspiration from both western and eastern comics and cartoons / anime and manga, and love to experiment with mixing the two styles. My program of choice is Clip Studio Paint, but I have experience in Procreate, Medibang, Fire Alpaca, and Photoshop. I love character design and making my own original characters, and would love to help you create your own! I'm looking to tutor beginner to intermediate artists, between the ages of 13 - 20. I'm here to share my knowledge, critique your work, and help you improve as an artist!

The first session starts off with a simple ice breaker using doodles and mini comics to get to know the student better, the kind of art they like to make, and to narrow down what it is they want to learn and improve on.
The following sessions will either be
A) Student driven, where we go over the topics the student wants to learn / improve on.
Or
B) Following preplanned lessons on topics ranging from figure drawing to style studies, depending on the age of the student.
Simple homework assignments will be given and critiqued based on the lessons. We will either focus on either illustrations or comics, whichever path the student is interested in. (Or a mix of both!)

- Figure Drawing Warm Ups
- Simplifying Anatomy
- Creating Original Characters
- Japanese Manga, American Comics, Webcomics and Zines
- Ins and Outs of Digital Art Programs (Layers, Layer Modes, etc.)
- Importance of Canvas Size and DPI
- Other tips and tricks, feel free to ask!
