About Helena
Helena maintains an active performance career. She has appeared as a soloist in her Cellobration recital series, performed with the Vancouver Island Symphony since 2005, and previously held positions with the Gyeonggi Provincial Philharmonic Orchestra in South Korea and the Jeunesse Musicales World Orchestra in Europe. These experiences deeply enrich her teaching philosophy, allowing her to inspire students through both technical mastery and musical expression. Helena earned her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in Cello Performance in Seoul, South Korea, and also holds a Suzuki Violin/Viola Teacher Certificate. (concealed information)

Helena Jung has been teaching cello for over 30 years, guiding many of her students to achieve remarkable success. Her students have reached the finals of the Vancouver International Music Competition, the BC Provincials, and other prestigious events. Some have gone on to perform with the National Youth Orchestra of Canada and even appeared as soloists with the Vancouver Philharmonic Orchestra.
Helena offers lessons in cello, violin, viola, and string ensemble for students of all ages and levels. She is known for her warm and supportive approach, helping students build strong technical foundations while nurturing confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of music.
