About Evan
I have been working with children since I was in high school and continued to acquire educational experience through college and into my professional life. I have worked in an educational context in multiple continents and feel I can say with confidence that I have little trouble establishing good communication with people from all backgrounds. I enjoy teaching and find it intellectually exciting; the work we do together will be complimented by time spent on my end preparing lesson plans and materials. I look forward to getting to know you and discussing how we can work together.

I offer lessons in English as a foreign language and English language arts/literacy tutoring for students who are native English speakers. I am CELTA-certified as an ESL teacher and have professional experience working with students of all ages.
My lessons are tailored to the needs of the individual students and I am happy to provide a broad, skill-based approach or a project-oriented one. I enjoy finding what works for a student with the student and am happy to adapt my methods to your priorities. Your goals are my goals. Whether you are working on your first five paragraph essay, writing a research paper for the first time or struggling with your undergraduate thesis, I’m happy and able to help.
I have an undergraduate degree in the humanities from Macalester College and can speak French and German.
