About Tania R
I am a very patient and determined teacher who is looking for tutoring and/or teaching Spanish Language (Literature). I hold an MA in Foreign Language and Literature from the University of Delaware, and a BA in Russian Language from Kiev University. I have over 27 years of experience teaching language for IB/AP students and college students.As a Cuban born citizen, I possess native fluency in reading, writing and speaking the Spanish language, and I have traveled extensively to Spanish and Russian speaking areas.This experience has provided me with a solid grasp of various regional dialects and customs, as well as nonstandard language use (e.g. slang). My experiences as well as my formal training in both Spanish and Russian, have also given me a firm grasp of proper sentence structure, grammar rules, and vocabulary from both languages.

I like to use the 'communicative approach'. This means I'm teaching Spanish through communication and interaction rather than concentrating on learning lists of Spanish vocabulary or grammar rules. I like to mantain an appropriate balance of modeling, explanation and practice in my classes which contribute significantly to the creation of a positive learning enviroment. To create a comfortable atmosphere I assure students that is normal to make errors or to mispronounce in foreign language.
