About Cristina
Ciao! My name is Cristina and I am a certified Italian teacher. I was born and raised in a small town near Rome but I have spent the last 14 years living in the UK. I am a sociologist, and my background is in journalism and marketing. During the pandemic, I decided to change my career and start a new chapter. I now daily teach students from everywhere, and I have never looked back. Teaching online has allowed me to meet so many different people with very different learning needs, I love being able to support my students in their learning as well as the discovery of the Italian culture.

My teaching approach is relaxed but professional and effective. I tailor my lessons around the student's needs using different kinds of material such as videos, audio, grammar exercises, and more. In our first lesson, we will have a chat about your goals, after which I will be able to make a plan to meet your expectations. The areas we will focus on are listening, speaking, reading, and writing but according to what you like I will be happy to suggest podcasts, films, or books you might enjoy. All students have different reasons to learn Italian but I can also tailor workshops around topics such as: - going to Italy for holidays - going to Italy for work - prepare an interview in Italian - meeting your partner's parents :) and more. I am also experienced in tutoring kids (12+) in international/Italian secondary schools. My qualifications are a DITALS certificate obtained at the University for foreigners in Siena (Italy) as well as a CLTA qualification gained at International House London. Cristina has a warm and welcoming style. For me, this approach really makes me feel comfortable and at ease, which facilitates confidence. This is so important to me because I have a phobia when it comes to learning, especially learning languages due to knowingly being dyslexic.
