Super tutor

Jake is one of our best ESOL (English) tutors. High-quality profile, verified qualifications, a quick response time, and great reviews from students!

About Jake

I am a part-time TEFL-certified teacher and a full time stock trader and investor with a matric bachelors. I was born in England and raised in Cape Town South Africa. I have also worked as an IT Specialist at a marketing company. I absolutely love travelling and meeting new people around the world, so teaching English as a foreign language is a dream job!

About the lesson

My approach when teaching English is based off the CLT (Communicative Language Teaching) method. This means that I ensure my students have an understanding of the material and can use it in everyday conversation, rather than focusing on pure spelling and structure. I also believe in making the learning process as fun as possible to ensure my learners stay motivated and continue to learn outside of class! My lessons are suitable for all age groups, are roughly one hour in length, and are available all days of the week.

Review

All of our reviews are collected by us and are 100% reliable. They correspond to real lessons experienced by the students of Jake.

Perfect! Jake exceeded my expectations of an English teacher. Every lesson was well prepared and perfectly structured. Jake was able to understand my English level and adjust the lessons accordingly. I was able to improve a lot in a short period of time. He also helped me to write my application. I got the job at that time. Thanks Jake!

Jake's response
Leon is a great learner and an amazing person. I enjoy teaching him English and we have developed a strong friendship over the months of our lessons! His English for a native German speaker is fantastic. There is room for improvement with regards to his Business English.

Jake is an extremely reliable person, highly skilled and hard working, he's biggest asset as a person is his genuineness as well as different way to thinking compared to others. He constantly is looking to change the world and come up with innovative ideas. No matter what task Jake and I have worked on in the past, I know he will always contribute on the project and provide a new perspective no one else will see. Jake my hero
