About Helena
I am a certified ESL teacher and a certified classroom teacher in British Columbia. I have given private and group English lessons for over 12 years. I have a Master's degree in International development and lots of experience writing essays, creative works and even short scripts! I enjoy teaching English mixed in with other subjects as well, in order to inspire my students to have greater knowledge of the world and all that life has to offer. I have travelled to 43 nations and incorporate my love of cultures and nations into my teaching at times too.

I incorporate grammar, writing, speaking, and listening activities according to the student's needs and goals. I also make the lessons interesting and interactive by incorporating topics that are of interest in current events, locally and around the world.

Details
Cancellations or reschedules are allowed if notice is given more than 24 hours in advance of a scheduled lesson. For in-home tutoring sessions beyond 10km of driving, a greater travelling fee may be negotiated or charged. Lessons involving conversational English only (no added homework assignments, worksheets, grammar lessons, reading or writing, etc..) can be purchased for a discounted rate of 40$/hour.
