About Darlene
After 20 years in the high school classroom, I chose to pursue my doctorate in education and open my own tutoring business. Since finishing my doctoral classwork, I've become more active with my business and dedicated to raising my own children. Currently I have a 97% rate of grade improvement including an average increase of 3 points on the math ACT.
I'm certified in Missouri (lifetime) and Kentucky (Rank 1) and have taught students from all over the world.

I'm a firm believer that everyone can learn -- it's just a matter of finding the right connections between what you know and what you don't. After working with a wide variety of students both in the classroom and privately, I believe those connections are unique to each individual and learning occurs when there is good partnership between student and teacher. That's what I strive to create.
I love learning about my students outside of the school setting. I love diving into how each of them understands the content in order to take them further in their knowledge. And I love sharing the beauty of mathematics with them (it really is there!).
My typical students are teenagers in any class between Algebra 1 and AP Calculus, but I've also worked with younger students preparing for those classes and with older students in classes such as college statistics and applied calculus.
