About Rebecca
I am a passionate teacher with many years' experience in multiple subject areas. I received my Bachelor of Science in 2003 in Spanish and TESOL. While teaching 3rd and 4th grade Bilingual classes, I earned my Master's degree in Reading. After the arrival of my children, I continued to teach through tutoring individuals and small groups in grades 6-8. I currently home educate my 3 children in 8th, 6rd, and 3rd grades while tutoring online grades K-12 in English, Essay Writing, Reading, and TESOL. I also teach small, local classes to children ages 4-10. I am passionate about my craft and my students. Your success is my success!

I strongly believe that each student is an individual gifted with a unique intelligence and best method of learning. Before getting into any lesson, I will first assess each student's previous knowledge in the subject and best learning style. Building on background knowledge (what is already known) is a key to success and I aim to use that to further and strengthen new knowledge as it is learned.
I guide each of my students to their own discoveries and learning, I do not perform the work for them. This way, the student is gifted the experience of truly achieving success on his/her own and not as a result of the answer being given to him/her. Guiding a student to a correct answer or through a new skill is an amazing experience and a gift to me as well as to the student.

Perfect! Rebecca is heaven sent. Because of her, my son Jamel was able to excel in reading and is now entering 6th grade on level X. She is patient, kind, and so responsive to his needs. You need her in your child’s life. Everyone needs a Rebecca! Book her now!
Perfect! Rebecca was a fabulous spelling tutor for our 7th grader. She helped with that extra time and guidance he couldn’t get at school. She made the lessons fun and engaging. Our son looked forward to his sessions with Rebecca and said he felt supported. Also, his spelling improved which has helped his confidence. Highly recommend!

Rebecca is very patient, not judgemental, and very attentive to individual needs. She sent me additional review materials, and sends a summary of the session after each appointment. You can really tell she cares about getting through to her clients. I felt she cared a lot about my needs and my learning.
I would highly recommend her to anyone.View more recommendations
