About Rebekah
Hi! I’m a certified reading intervention teacher with a background in Special Education and Science of Reading instruction.
I specialize in helping older struggling readers (Grades 3–8) who feel stuck, frustrated, or behind—especially students who:
• Can read the words but don’t understand what they’re reading
• Guess at words instead of decoding
• Avoid reading or say they “hate it”
• Have lost confidence in their abilities
My approach combines research-based instruction with my Reading Detective Method, where students learn to “crack the code” of reading step by step.
In our sessions, students become active problem-solvers as they learn how to:
Break down unfamiliar words (no more guessing)
Strengthen comprehension and thinking skills
Build fluency and confidence using age-appropriate texts
I am known for explaining concepts in multiple ways, slowing down when needed, and creating a supportive, low-pressure environment where students feel safe to learn.
This is not one-size-fits-all tutoring—each lesson is personalized to your child’s specific needs.
